My ethos.

After working across oil and gas, investment banking, start-ups, and global e-commerce, one pattern has remained constant. Organisations talk about strategy, invest heavily in data teams and technology, and yet still struggle to translate those efforts into meaningful business impacts.

Too often, data is treated as a technical service function instead of what it really is: a core business discipline that should both shape strategic thinking and validate it through performance measurement.

My perspective on this has been shaped by these same experiences. In each environment, I saw this pattern repeated: investment in tools and platforms without the strategic clarity needed to make them effective. I have even made these mistakes myself. Technology alone does not create alignment or impact.

Strategy must come first.

At its best, a data team contributes directly to shaping business priorities, then validates that strategic direction through relevant KPIs and performance metrics. This feedback loop enables better decisions, sharper focus, and continuous improvement. Evaluating data work through the lens of people first, followed by process and finally technology ensures teams remain anchored to business outcomes rather than technology and tools.

My work exists to help data leaders and organisations create this cohesion. Through coaching and facilitated workshops, I support teams to strengthen alignment between data and strategy, enabling them to deliver genuine business value with confidence.
